Meet Opie, a charming 5-year-old Chihuahua who came to us from a shelter in Eastern Kentucky after being surrendered by his previous owner. We can’t imagine why, because Opie is the absolute sweetest little dog! He loves everyone and everything—other dogs, cats, and even gentle children. His tail is always going a mile a minute!

Opie is already neutered and fully vetted – he’s ready join his new family! He is truly the most snuggly dog you’ll ever meet, happily curling up under blankets in his crate – although he really prefers to hang out on the couch. He’s perfectly quiet in his crate during the workday and overnight. He’s a natural at burrowing under blankets and loves wearing a cozy sweater on chilly days. He can be playful, especially with little stuffed toys, and enjoys the company of other laid-back small dogs (both male and female). He’s also great with cats. Opie is currently working on his house training, and his neuter has is helping him refine his skills. While he enjoys sniffing around his foster’s fenced-in yard, he’s also happy going for regular leash walks.
