Meet June, a sweet and submissive 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs only 7 pounds. She doesn’t have a tail and we’re not sure if she was born without it or if it was lost along the way. June came from a shelter in Eastern Kentucky, where so many desperately need rescue. When she first arrived at her foster home, she was completely shut down, but with time, patience, and love, June began to open up and show her true, gentle nature. Although she is still nervous and will army crawl to you when she’s feeling a little bashful, she cannot resist some petting and attention. She is such an affectionate little girl and loves to share tiny kisses.

She enjoys zooming around the house when she feels brave, and she gets along wonderfully with the other small dogs after a slow introduction. We think she would be best in a home with another small and friendly dog to help boost her confidence. The resident cat doesn’t faze her at all. She should have a fenced yard in her forever home as the leash is still very scary to her.

June seems mostly housebroken and is crate trained, sleeping peacefully in her crate at night without making a fuss. She’s gentle, submissive, and incredibly sweet. She’s looking for a patient and loving family who can continue to help her thrive and appreciate her kind-hearted nature. Could June be the perfect addition to your family?
