Meet Ginger and Sassy, a delightful bonded pair of 6-year-old sisters who are ready to bring cuddles and charm to their forever home! These 6-year-old gals came to us together after they ended up in a shelter because their owner sadly went into hospice. A promise was made that the dogs would stay together, so here they both are!

Sassy is the white short haired Chihuahua and she is a total love! Ginger is the Havanese type and she is definitely the alpha lady of the two. Both are very sweet, housebroken, good with dogs, and ready to find their forever family. These two have been through thick and thin together, and their personalities complement each other perfectly. Sassy, the Chihuahua, is as a sweet little lady, although she’s not afraid to snarl at her sister from time to time. Deep down, she’s a softie who loves to snuggle. Ginger, the Havanese, may be a little feisty with other dogs, but she’s a loyal companion to Sassy and adores her human family. Together, they make the perfect pair, each with their own quirks and little moments of sweetness.

While they’re both moderate to low-energy dogs, their playful bond shines through when they’re in the mood to play. They’re housebroken, well-behaved, and have mastered the art of sitting when asked—especially if a treat is involved! Their daily routine mostly involves sleeping, snuggling, and going outside for a quick potty break.

These girls are a true pair of sisters—sometimes they crab at each other, but you can always count on them to curl up together for a nap. They do well when crated together and enjoy their downtime while their humans are away. Though Ginger can be a bit possessive with other dogs, Sassy is a little more laid-back and doesn’t mind sharing the spotlight. As for cats, they’re completely unfazed and don’t bat an eye at them.

A fenced yard (or at least a secure area) is ideal for them, as they’re good about going out to do their business and coming right back inside. While they haven’t had a chance to walk on a leash yet, we suspect they’ll be just fine with some training – Sassy is particularly curious about the world around her!

These sweet, small dogs have plenty of love to give and are looking for a cozy home where they can relax, snuggle, and enjoy the quiet joys of life. With a lifespan expected to be long, they’ll be loyal companions for years to come, offering their unique brand of affection and entertainment along the way.
