Meet Charlie, a 2-year-old Yorkie mix with a heart full of love and a bit of spunk! This 12-pound bundle of energy is as friendly and outgoing as they come, but he’s got a headstrong side that requires an experienced owner who can guide him with patience and consistency. Charlie’s ideal home would be with someone familiar with terrier personalities, as he’s a bit of a go-getter and thrives with a confident leader.

Charlie absolutely loves playtime—whether it’s with toys or his doggy friends, he’s always up for some fun. In his foster home, he gets along wonderfully with the other small dogs, so he’d do best in a home with a playful pup to keep him company.

Charlie’s journey hasn’t been easy—he was found as a stray and, fearful of his situation, nipped the officer who caught him. This led to him being labeled a “bite risk” and left waiting in a high-volume shelter, where his future was uncertain. But we saw something special in him and decided to take a chance. Since joining our rescue, Charlie has proven to be a wonderful, loving companion who’s ready to find a forever family who can appreciate his feisty, affectionate nature.

Because Charlie is an active little guy, we’re requiring a home with a securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and burn off some of his energy. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for an active, loyal little buddy, Charlie might just be your perfect match!
