Meet Snoop, a handsome and incredibly smart 1-year-old blue Doberman who is settling into his foster home and ready for the next step in his journey. Snoop is a young, energetic guy with plenty of spunk, but he’s also got a calm demeanor and is already showing his potential as a well-behaved companion.
Snoop is 100% food motivated, which makes training a breeze! He’s already mastered “sit,” “down,” and “come,” though like any young dog, he can get a little distracted at times. He walks pretty well on a leash, although he has a preference for being on the right side—something his foster family is working on. He’s also not reactive to common stimuli like birds, cars, or people while out walking, and he’s shown a healthy curiosity without any signs of aggression toward other dogs, even though he’s still learning proper doggy boundaries.
In the yard, Snoop enjoys exploring and has been off-leash a few times with no issues. He’s comfortable being handled, and there are no problems touching his paws, ears, tail, or mouth. He’s great in his crate, sleeps solidly, and doesn’t show any signs of separation anxiety—though he does love to jump up when you first greet him!
Like any growing pup, Snoop has a few things to work on. He’s got some counter-surfing tendencies (but he’s quick to stop when told no), and while he’s never shown interest in stoves or other dangerous kitchen equipment, it’s important to keep an eye on him.
Snoop isn’t fully socialized with other dogs just yet—he tends to be a little pushy when he wants to play and hasn’t quite learned when to give resting dogs their space. With more time and exercise, this will likely improve. He’s a big, athletic boy, so he’d do best in a home with older kids who can handle his size and energy. And speaking of his energy, Snoop is the kind of dog who could easily clear a 4-foot fence if he really wanted to, so his future home will need a secure yard.
This young Doberman thrives on structure, and we believe someone with an interest in obedience, agility, or tracking would be an excellent match for him. He’s shown a great love for training exercises and has a fantastic nose, especially when it comes to food. Snoop is a solid, lovable companion who will continue to grow into an even more well-behaved dog with the right family and the right guidance. Could that be you?
