Meet Canela, a sweet and gentle 3-year-old Doberman looking for her forever home!

This lovely lady weighs 63 lbs and is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. Canela was surrendered to the Anti-Cruelty Society in February due to conflicts with the other dogs in her previous home. She was often kept in a mechanic shop with two German Shepherds, where tensions between the dogs led to frequent fights between the Shepherds as they were not accepting of Canela.

She is a drama-free gal and ready to leave all of that behind her! Although she has scars from old wounds and pressure sores, she won’t let her past define her future. She just arrived in her foster home and has proven to be a very sweet, quiet, and passive houseguest. She is housetrained and has excellent manners in the home. So far, she has paid no attention to the other dogs in her foster home but we believe in slow introductions so will circle back with her full compatibility. She barks at the cat from behind the gate so no feline friends for Canela. She pulls a little on the leash but she’s a pretty easy going gal so should be easy to train. Canela remains a calm and affectionate companion. She is a laid-back girl who loves attention and will gently rest her head on your lap for pets. She seeks out attention from the children in her foster home and is very gentle with them. She loves to greet everyone with a wiggly nub – she actually wiggles her whole body when she’s excited.
